Christmas Barn Dance Party!!

For this Christmas season (our first full year in operation), we decided to celebrate and thank those who have made Robin Hills Farm what it is today through dance!! And what dance, you might ask? A square dance, barn dance, line dance, throw-back to the old country way of entertainment. And oh was it fun!
Thanks to RHF staff (thank you, Laura!), the barn was filled with Christmas cheer in the form of rustic, nature-based decorations (and a few light up reindeer:). That coupled with the incredible craftsmanship of the structure, the flooring, and the bar, the barn was elegant and festive, and it would serve as the perfect location for our Christmas Barn Dance.

The night began with a potluck, and all RHF staff, instructors, family, and friends were invited to bring a dish to pass, and oh my, were the dishes something! Vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, gluten-free dishes, appetizers, mains, and desserts all for one party?! We were fortunate to have so many exquisite, creative chefs.

Following the feast and friendly conversation, the main event began. Jim and Loretta McKinney, from New Boston, hosted our barn dance. Talented musicians and square dance callers, Jim and Loretta led the night with dances ranging from basic to advanced, full group dances down to smaller groups, and all executed with the fun and craft that comes along with calling. Those who participated were all smiles, but breathing was heavy as many were surprised at the amount of energy square dancing requires.

The dance continued on for a couple of hours, and the night finished with an abundance of dosey does and the virginia reel! Thank you to Jim and Loretta McKinney, to RHF staff, friends & family, instructors, contractors, and supporters! And thank you to Brett Moyer for some of these wonderful photos! Stay tuned for more Barn Dances open to the public. See you soon!
