Chelsea District Library Song Fest

Stories and Songs by Local Artists

If you’re looking for a fun filled day, join Robin Hills Farm and the Chelsea District Library for the 5th Annual Song Fest, this Saturday, October 22nd!

You’ll start your day at the Chelsea District Library listening to local talent at the Teen Song Fest showcase. Then you can learn all about the songwriting process with a group workshop. And to close out the day, you’ll head over to Robin Hills Farm where Tommy Stinson will give a live interview and exciting performance.

What’s the Purpose of Song Fest?

Community, Education, and Fun.

Bringing great people together to have fun and learn is not only at the heart of Song Fest, but also the two organizations hosting it -- our farm and the Chelsea District Library. With these values in common, it was a no-brainer to partner together to create this wonderful event.

What are the Best Benefits of Song Fest?

One of the best parts of Song Fest is highlighting new artists, especially youth in the community, and encouraging them to pursue their passions. This is why the Teen Song Fest Showcase was created. But Song Fest isn’t solely about entertainment. It’s also about the value of education which is why the event includes the Introduction to Songwriting workshop. In this workshop, teens and adults can hear advice from seasoned songwriters and will be able to ask some great questions too such as, “What obstacles did you face?” and “How did you get started?”

In addition to the workshop, an interview with the concert headliner - Tommy Stinson - is also held so that local talent can be inspired and learn about music from a successful musician with real songwriting experience. Tommy was chosen because of his wide array of experiences in the Replacements, Guns N’ Roses, Bash and Pop, and Cowboys in the Campfire.

What’s Our Favorite Part of Song Fest?

We love that Song Fest appeals to all ages. Younger children come to watch, young adults perform, and adults and senior residents enjoy it all. It’s a multi-generational event that everyone can enjoy together.

And we appreciate the way that Song Fest celebrates living life and reminds us that there is more than one way to tell a great story right here locally. That’s what Robin Hills Farm and the Chelsea District Library strive to do every day—support the unfolding stories of our community.

So, spend your Saturday with us at Song Fest. A day-long celebration of music built for all ages, that uplifts local talent, and equips them with the tools they need to pursue their dreams. We’ll see you there!
